About One Flinders
Our Founder
One Flinders was founded in 2022 by Melinda van der Westhuizen GAICD to support and encourage organisations and individuals to navigate through the change and challenge journey to achieve outperformance.
After 25 years of leading teams in corporate real estate, funds and investment management and for purpose environments, Melinda’s drive for commercial performance, passion for people and purpose is ignited by complimenting consulting projects, executive and C-Suite support with board directorships, and community and project volunteering.
Seamus van der Westhuizen joined in 2024 as Principal Consultant with expertise in development project consulting in the healthcare, retail, and community sectors.
Seamus has led property development projects of scale during a career spanning 30 years of shopping centre, health, church, community and aged care development projects.
The same approach to purpose, value and growth applies to our property and change management projects as it does to our individual mentoring and coaching programs.

Our Approach
We will meet with you and listen, affirm your needs, design a solution - bespoke to you and/or your organisation.
We provide an up front fee per day proposal with the ability to dial services up or down throughout our engagement.
We build long term relationships, love what we do and only work with people and organisations with aligned values. This alignment results in an ongoing relationship that doesn't finish with the successful completion of your project or coaching program. We will continue to be only a phone call away and are delighted to provide on going ad-hoc support.

One Flinders was founded to enable the pursuit of commercial and individual growth projects alongside pro bono, for purpose and NFP passion projects.
Environmental, social and governance objects are the core of One Flinders founding values, mission, vision and purpose.
By engaging with One Flinders, you are supporting and enabling investment in active social, diversity and global healthcare projects.
We commit a collective 40% of consulting income and time to community and global mission organisations annually. In 2024 the programs supported focus on health, education and homes: including hospital projects and reproductive education in Tanzania through MMA, primary school mentoring through Kid's Hope, housing services through Servants Community Housing and refugee welcoming programs through Embrace Sanctuary Australia.

Corporate and for purpose expertise in retail, industrial, office, healthcare, residential and education property sectors with NFP experience in education advisory, affordable housing, disability housing, primary school mentoring, refugee community connection, global healthcare projects, Board governance and fundraising. Melinda and Seamus have a thorough understanding of the community and workplace environment with a depth of knowledge and shared experience when working with people from the property, NFP and for purpose sectors.
